In the spring, ChatGPT was released, and of course, we were also impressed. What an amazing piece of technology! We had to play around with it. So, we built various prototypes: a vector-based search, an app with general language conversation, and an assistant for configurators.

It was all quite interesting, but none of it really excited us.

Then we thought, let's try something different: Let's create a 1:1 copy of OpenAI and add new features that we find interesting for eCommerce. All of this in the context of our client igus with the integration of products, prices, and calculation logics. That's when we had our first 'Wow' moment: This is the future!

Now we have a very interesting research project with the question: What customer benefits can be achieved in eCommerce with ChatGPT?

This project is ongoing, and we are constantly learning, not only in terms of customer benefits but also technically.
